JALIA AFRICAN CHILD is a community based organization in Kenya, committed to aiding vulnerable individuals such as orphans, widows and the elderly.
The organization emerged from merging a self-help group and a youth organization, pooling members from both groups. It officially commenced its operations under the name JALIA AFRICAN CHILD in 2022.
JALIA AFRICAN CHILD is based in Ogembo municipality, of Kisii County in the southern part of Nyanza.
It prioritizes shared passion, vision and mission among its members, advocating for the potency of skills, abilities and ideas.
Established in 2007 amidst tribal conflicts, it began when its founder Hyline Obita, provided refuge to children affected by the violence. Over the years, the organization expanded its reach, offering care and support to abandoned and orphaned children.
Since its inception, JALIA AFRICAN CHILD has been dedicated to its mission despite facing challenges such as the loss of a major sponsor and the passing of its founder.
The organization champions the idea that even modest acts of generosity, when driven by Love, can yield significant outcomes.
With specific focus on aiding orphaned children and widows, it offers educational opportunities and aids widows in enhancing their quality of life.
