Jalia African Child Future Plans

Education

Education is an essential human right that enables individuals to develop their own abilities and improve their quality life. However, gaining access to quality education remains a challenge to those vulnerable & orphans within the society. Globally less than 40% of countries provide girls & boys with equal education as well the orphans and vulnerable children are neglected due to financial constraints. We have an aim every child regardless of economic or social situation has a right to obtain quality education. Since we began the initiative we have overwhelming requests from the community and have a plan to try and accommodate all of them and also introduce lunch program to schools for our children to settle and focus on their future.

Income Generation Program

The organization have many proposals at hand to enable the widows and orphans access good life, eradicate poverty and achieve their goals; we are planning to start a poultry project that will be sustainable and give hope to the widows and orphans. The project will render income to the families and meet their basic needs like food, shelter, and education to their children. It will regenerate income and produce to other levels hence achieving the goals of the organization. Through the project it will mentor the widows, be an entrepreneur and excel in improving economic vitality and environmental stewardship also serving as an inspiring model for sustainable development. The outcome will be realized when various stakeholders collaborate with a shared vision for community well-being and resilience, showcasing the transformative power of collective action.

Empowering Widows & Protecting Nature

Amongst sensitization activities, Jalia African Child has a plan to plant 5000 tree seedlings. The aim is to educate the community on environmental conservation to combat climate change. We plan to move to schools, churches and homes to plant the seedlings as we aim for greener tomorrows.
Moreover, the campaign prioritizes enhancing the livelihoods of 100 widows both Kisii and Nyamira counties by providing training sessions in widow groups, climate change initiatives, climate-smart agriculture and construction of energy-saving jikos. The Smart jikos reduce charcoal and firewood consumption, directly mitigating deforestation caused by fuel and charcoal produce. We have a plan to train 20 widows on building energy jikos and climate smart agriculture e.g cultivating resilient crops like bananas, cassavas and vegetables along establishing kitchen gardens for daily food needs.

Climate Change

Agricultural activities in gardens and shambas are not practiced dully because of unpredictable weather conditions, in the event that the plants dry up and it’s a great loss for the members and quit demoralizing hence making farm inputs expensive. As the organization to mitigate the problem, we plan to have a drilled borehole for access of water to practice irrigation and have 2 greenhouses that will enhance production of food to the widows, children and the community. This will eradicate hunger and give good health by accessing clean water.
